Two BFA manufacturing plants reach SIGNIFICANT Safety milestone

Both the Florence, N.J., and Jackson, Ga., manufacturing plants at BFA have achieved 180 consecutive days without a Reportable Injury! The last Reportable injuries for both locations occurred the week of Aug. 12, 2019.

Florence Associates achieved this milestone by focusing on near miss and safety hazard reporting, integrating new Safety in Motion practices, having multiple languages participate in monthly safety committee meetings (called One Voice) and conducting personal protective equipment (PPE) audits in all departments. The Florence plant has also invested in a new roadway for Associates to travel safely into the plant! Jackson Associates accomplished their result by targeting Slip/Trip/ Fall incidents through a renewed focus on walking/working surfaces and revisiting slip-resistant footwear options. Additionally, Jackson was the first BFA plant to formalize their Behavior Based Safety program by introducing Dupont Safety Training Observation Program (STOP), which is being driven by Safety Committee members. Not to be overshadowed, Swedesboro Associates have just reached 75 consecutive days without a Reportable incident! Swedesboro Associates have achieved this through a high level of engagement and adopting similar approaches seen in Florence and Jackson. Swedesboro is the first plant to implement and apply the new Safety In Motion program. Combined, BFA’s East Coast manufacturing sites have worked over 1.2 million labor hours without a Reportable Injury
