BONDUELLE International Delicatessen has obtained ISO 50001 Certification and has become the first agro-food company to receive help from the PRO-SMEn programme.
By setting up an energy management system complying with the ISO 50001 Norm for its production sites of delicatessen salads, located in Saint Benoist sur Vannes (10) and Rosporden (29), the company is aiming at a 5% energy saving per year.
This initiative is part of the Bonduelle Group’s proactive policy aiming at reducing its energy and environmental footprint; to date, in Europe, 15 plants have obtained the ISO 50001 Certification.
In the agro-food industry, there is a huge untapped potential for saving energy; The ISO 50001 Certification enables them to adopt responsible attitudes to energy efficiency, resulting in decreased energy bills.
“The PRO-SMEn programme, supported by the ATEE, (Association Technique
Energie Environnement (in French) provides substantial financial support” stated Daniel CAPPE, Vice-President of the ATEE.
