Bonduelle was awarded a carbon emissions reduction certificate on 3 May 2014 during the International Logistics Trade Fair at Barcelona in Spain.
For one year now, Bonduelle has developed combined rail-road transport to link Murcia in Spain with Saint Mihiel in France. This initiative saves one tonne of CO² per trip on average, namely 29 tonnes of CO² for the first year.
The certificate was presented to the Bonduelle Group by rail operator VIIA as a user together with Campillo, the transport company.
This approach is part of continuous efforts made by the group to improve its environmental performance. By giving priority to rail-road transport, Bonduelle has exceeded its objectives to reduce greenhouse gases for the 2012-2013 period. Initially set at 3,000 tonnes, these reductions finally amounted to 3,057 tonnes by using this alternative mode.
