An entrepreneurial spirit

1919 - M. et Mme André Bonduelle et leurs treize enfants

The two associates bought an old, isolated abbey in the village of Renescure. It was surrounded by 76 hectares of land at the edge of a forest, to the North of the Pas-de-Calais region.

Towards 1868, the first of the construction work was launched: a distillery for grain spirits, a barn for cattle, a malt house and a large dwelling.

Thanks to their bold investments, both men started working with yeast in 1872 and bought a sugar refinery in 1882: the company was quickly booming. In 1888, their successors - brothers and brothers-in-law - increased activity even further. At the beginning of the 20th century, each family chose a specific path.
