Come join our Bergen & Oakfield, NY team as Senior HR Generalist and contribute to feeding the world during these unprecedented times.

You will take ownership of Human Resources at an essential business during the COVID-19 crisis and make your mark supporting employees during a challenging time at a processing facility that must continue to produce in-demand frozen food products for American consumers.

Reporting to the US HR Manager the Sr. HR Generalist will be responsible for the attraction, retention and development of facility associates, and the implementation of company programs that support this initiative. Coordinates facility recruitment, employee training, health/retirement benefit programs, workforce development, compensation, wellness, and other human resource initiatives. Serves as a resource to members of facility management to assist in the development of departmental supervisors, and hourly staff members.

  • Conducts recruitment for all facility employees. Directly responsible for the administration of the facility recruitment/training process to include background checks and drug testing programs and onboarding.
  • Responsible for payroll entries and processing and ensuring data accuracy for the facilities serviced.
  • Assist facility management with seasonal staffing contracts and relationship.
  • Attends job/career fairs, represents the organizations in local business community initiatives.
  • Monitors data integrity, and case management progress for disability and workers compensation leaves. Coordinates and manages benefit programs at the facility level.
  • Administers all company, facility, and government policy(s) that address associate behavior, compensation, performance, development and human rights.
  • Coordinates, implements, and updates all facility training programs coach and develop facility supervisors and managers on development of employees and assist plant management in the development of succession plans for the facility.
  • Promote and foster programs that facilitate improvement processes, and associate well-being.
  • Provide support and counsel to facility supervision for associate interventions (associate disputes, performance and discipline, coaching)
  • Attends facility management, safety and other administrative meetings. Recommends new approaches to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the facilities served.
  • Drive employee engagement and communication efforts
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing professional networks, participating in professional organizations and local community organizations.
  • Direct responsibility of Administrative Assistant

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources/Business or other related field

Experience:

  • Three (3) to five years (5) human resources experience.
  • Food industry/manufacturing experience is desirable but not required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Global and cultural awareness.
  • Ethical practice.
  • HR Expertise – knowledge of NY State and Federal Labor laws.
  • Excellent organizational skills and problem solving ability.
  • Excellent public speaking skills.
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus!
