SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of US Operations, the Plant Manager will be responsible for achieving manufacturing facility operatives and functionally responsible for production, quality assurance, maintenance, and warehouse departments. 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor, direct and mentor employees under his/her supervision
  • Foster and lead all employees into a highly effective team through motivation, development and evaluation
  • Plan, organize and oversee plant activities to ensure that the manufacturing programs are in line with the supply chain, corporate objectives and environmental protocols
  • Establish and track the plant’s operating and production capacity budgets. With the assistance of the plant’s management control systems, detects and correct anomalies
  • In conjunction with the Project Engineers, defines and presents capital projects for consideration and implementation. Ensures capital projects are completed on time and within the appropriate budget
  • Ensure a quality finished product through established control processes and procedures
  • Applies continuous improvement concepts to all plant activities to minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital
  • Be accountable for compliance with established HACCP, Food Safety and GMP protocols for employees under his/her supervision
  • Be accountable for the health and safety of the employees under his/her supervision; responsible for ensuring that buildings, machinery and equipment are safe and that employee work in compliance with legislation and established safe work practices and procedures. 

 


Profile

COMPETENCIES/QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree in Engineering or in other related field
  • Minimum five (5) years of related management experience preferably in the food industry
  • Strong communication, leadership and problem solving skills
  • Strong teamwork based management skills
  • Must have strong self-motivational skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
