Michel Figeac, 52 years old, became the Managing Director of Bonduelle Grand Public, the subsidiary of the Bonduelle Group, on June 1st, 2004.
Graduated from the A.C.I. (Paris CCI) and E.S.C.P (marketing) business schools, and from the Institute of International Business, he has always held sales, marketing or general management positions in food-processing industries.
He started his career as a product manager with Belin (RJR Nabisco), and then became a Regional Sales Director. In 1985, he joined the Pillsbury/Grand Met group as the Sales and Marketing Director for the Géant Vert brand in France, before creating Haagen Dazs in France and becoming its Managing Director, and then the Managing Director of Green Giant in north-eastern Europe. From 1992 to 1999, he was Mc Cain’s Managing Director for France, and then for southern Europe. In 2000, Michel Figeac was appointed Chairman and Managing Director of the Italian cheese and pork product company Galbani, a subsidiary of the Danone Group; he was in charge of selling it in 2002 after turning it round. Since 2002, he had been at the head of MF Conseil, a strategy consulting firm for food-processing companies, business banks and financial funds.
Based in Villeneuve d’Ascq (Lille area), Bonduelle Grand Public is the Bonduelle subsidiary specialized in branded canned and frozen vegetables (Bonduelle, Cassegrain and Frudesa), as well as in frozen products sold under retailer own brands. It operates in the new European Union. With a €570 million turnover in FY 2002/03, this subsidiary accounts for 43% of the group’s overall turnover, has 4,700 employees in Europe, and runs 9 production sites (5 in France, 2 in Spain, 1 in Portugal and 1 in Poland).
Michel Figeac succeeds Thierry Zurcher.
