The ninth annual Louis Bonduelle Foundation Conference took place in Paris on 7 June. The FAO named 2016 the International Year of Pulses, and this edition of the conference appropriately focused on pulses and their place in our diets. The foundation made statements and experts gave presentations for an audience of nearly two hundred researchers, nutrition industry players, and journalists.
The event also celebrated the tenth anniversary of the foundation’s Research Prize, which has recognized the achievements of fourteen scientists since its creation. Géraldine Camilleri, the winner of the 2014 prize, discussed her work on intuitive and deliberate diets. At the end of the conference, the 2016 Research Prize was awarded to Annie Geziena ‘Tina’ Venema, from Utrecht University in the Netherlands, for her work on ‘effortless healthy food choices’.
