ANIA launches a major citizen survey in France on food

ANIA (French National Association of Food Industries) is appealing to the French to speak and state their new expectations concerning food.

Food is at the heart of French people's daily lives and society debates. 60%* of French people declare that they eat mostly for pleasure and 75%** are proud of our food model. However there is a widening gap between the daily producers of food, which includes the 15,789 agro-food businesses in France, and the consumers. Only 55%** of French people have a good image of their food industry.

Today, the National Association of Food Industries, faced with this contrasting situation, is launching a major citizen survey because food touches the heart of all French people.

Its aim is to give each French consumer an opportunity to express their opinions and expectations about their food. The results will serve as a basis to build a new Food Pact involving citizens and businesses.

For a period of four months, from 3 November 2015 to 3 March 2016, the French population will be able to speak and give their opinion on food for several minutes. The major topics to be addressed in this online questionnaire are the quality and variety of what's offered, food preferences, buying criteria, information and trust. The survey will be an opportunity for the French to clearly state what they expect from their food industry and its actors
